The Protekta Safety Gear Ecommerce website provides detailed information about our comprehensive range of protective safety products and also allows you to efficiently purchase products online which can be collected or conveniently delivered to you.

Do you have a walk-in retail store (to view or purchase your products), instead of ordering online?

The Protekta Safety Shack is open to the public Monday to Thursday from 07H30 to 16H30 and Fridays from 07h30 to 16H30. The Safety Shack is located at our head office and warehouse Unit 3, Meadowdale Business Park, Herman Road, Meadowdale, Edenvale.

How do I place an order online?

Ordering online with Protekta Safety Gear is easy, fast and safe. When browsing and buying using the Protekta Ecommerce website you can complete an order and purchase as an unregistered guest or you can register an account which will allow you to manage your account details, delivery information and simplify repeat purchases.

Select the items you’re looking for and add them to your cart (“ADD TO CART”). If any items are out of stock in our warehouse, the website will also reflect these items as “Out of Stock”. Once you’ve added all the items you’d like to your cart, proceed to “Check Out” and the total amount of the order should be displayed. If you’re happy to go ahead with the order, you can then proceed and select a payment option (either Credit Card or EFT), and you can select to have the goods either delivered to you (via our courier) or for you to collect them from our warehouse in Johannesburg.

Should you select the delivery option please remember to input the delivery address and the street/postal code. Our website will provide the shipping cost and add it to the total of your order.

Once an order has been completed online, you’ll receive an email stating your order has been received and if you chose to have the goods delivered, you’ll also receive a shipment email notifying you of the delivery details.

How can I pay?

The following payment methods are available:

  1. We accept payments from Credit Cards (Visa and MasterCard).

  2. Payment can also be made via PayD and SID.

  3. EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) – with this payment method please ensure the proof of payment is emailed to orders@protekta.co.za in order for us to confirm the cleared payment. Please ensure you use the correct reference for your order. The reference will be your order number and is provided in the order email confirmation when you place an order. Note: EFT payments can take up to three business days to clear, and only once cleared will your order be processed for dispatch.

Why won’t my credit card payment not go through?

Often difficulties processing card payments are due to 3D-Secure (MasterCard’s product called “SecureCode” and Visa’s product is called “Verified by Visa”). It is a method of security mandated by the Card Associations to enhance the security of online transactions. If you experience any payment difficulties, it is most likely because your card is not registered and you will need to contact your bank to register your card. Our payment system provider is compliant and in fact was the first South African payment gateway to be certified by both MasterCard and Visa for 3D-Secure transactions through First National Bank, Standard Bank and ABSA.

How can I see the delivery cost of my order, before placing the order?

Our delivery/shipping fee structure is simple and transparent. Any order will attract a delivery/shipping fee of R100 (inc. VAT) for any order placed in South Africa. Any order over the value of R1500.00 will receive FREE delivery/shipping.

How long will my order take to be delivered?

Delivery times can’t be guaranteed, however, depending on the size of your order (weight/dimensions) and your location, it may take three to five business days after your payment has been received and cleared and your order approved for dispatch.

I cannot add items to my cart. It takes me to the cart, but says the cart is empty?

Please ensure cookies are enabled on your web browser. The software we use to provide the website functionality uses a cookie that contains a SessionID to connect the various pages on our site together. If you do not enable cookies, we cannot identify you once you have completed entry of your cardholder details to be able to continue the process.

Are cookies a security risk?

No, our commerce system encrypts all cookies. Additionally, the cookie contains no personal information, just a unique identifier for our system to recognise your browser.
